Looking for an Au Pair in Honolulu, Hawaii?

With over 30 years of experience, EurAupair was one of the first au pair programs to become designated by the U. S. Department of State to legally sponsor au pairs to come to the United States, and has placed tens of thousands of au pairs across the country including in the Honolulu area and Oahu island.

EurAupair is an affordable child care option, making it a real value for such flexible, loving, in-home care. And, unlike other forms of child care, the program fee is for children of all ages, and per family - not per child.

The Benefits of Finding an Au Pair

When you bring an au pair into your home, your family benefits in so many ways. You have a unique chance to learn about a new culture from your au pair, who can come from Europe, South America and other far-away places. Not only will she share her knowledge with your kids, but they will have a chance to teach her things in return, such as introducing her to local Honolulu customs and geography.

You also get a worry-free child care option. You can go to work or tend to other things outside of the home knowing your children have the attention of an experienced, trustworthy caregiver.

Why Use EurAupair?

When you look for an au pair, you want to use a program you can trust to find the right person and go through the correct channels. EurAupair is just the sort of trustworthy program you want to use. We have been designated by the U.S. Department of State.

We remain a supporting partner in the process throughout your au pair experience. From providing an initial match to walking you through the interview process to following up once the au pair has arrived at your house, we remain involved to ensure everyone has a good experience. We can help your family adjust to the new living arrangement and help your au pair, who may never have been away from home before, feel more comfortable in your Honolulu environment.

Local Support from EurAupair Community Counselors

Following the receipt of your application form, a local Community Counselor from the Honolulu area will be assigned to your family. The Community Counselor is available to answer any questions and provide assistance to both you and your au pair throughout your year together.

"I have seen so many great connections made between an au pair and their host family. It is truly a great experience for an au pair and the families that participate. You and your children will bond with your au pair, and will consider her as a part of your family by the time your host year is over." from Community Counselor Krysten Carl.

Some examples of monthly au pair meetings in the area include: Iolani Palace, Honolulu Harbor, Pearl Harbor / WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument, snorkeling in the most beautiful beaches of the world with crystal clear waters, hiking in the most popular trails such as Mānoa Falls, Diamond Head Crater or Kokohead.

Child-Friendly Activities for Your Au Pair in Honolulu, Hawaii

Once you find an au pair, you will need to teach her about the places she and the kids can go in Honolulu. She will be responsible for entertaining your children when you are at work or they are out of school. Honolulu has so many amazing destinations, so it may be hard to narrow down your list of suggestions.

The entire island of Oahu has fun areas to explore. You may suggest taking the kids to one of the fine beaches. They will also enjoy the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center, where interactive exhibits teach them about science and creativity. Hiking nearby mountains, hitting up nature preserves and checking out volcano craters are also great ways to spend the day in Honolulu.

When your au pair arrives, you should discuss how she and the kids will get around. You may have a car for her to use, or you may prefer they rely on public transportation. Whatever you decide, make sure your au pair understands how to navigate the area. The Bus website has a handy tool that gives public transit directions from anywhere when you type in a starting and ending point.

Education for your Au Pair
