Child Care Experience
I have been caring for Kieke (1) since February 2024. My duties include changing diapers, feeding, playing learning activities, assisting with arts and crafts activities, reading, supervising playtime and playing games. I have been watching Michael (3) and Matthew (1) since February 2022. I keep them entertained, take them swimming, riding bicycles and playing. Since January 2022, I have been occasionally caring for Wean (2). I prepare meals, feed him, take him to the park, play with him. I have been tutoring Mienke (10), taking care of Mia (3mths) and Steyn (7) since February 2022. I cared for Anien (10) from January 2020 until February 2024. My duties included preparing meals, bathing, getting them ready for bed, light house cleaning, playing games, keeping her entertained and supervising. I cared for Dylan (2) from May until June 2022. My duties included bathing, preparing meals, feeding, changing diapers, putting him down for his naps, playing and keeping him entertained

I have always had a passion for looking after children, which is why I want to become an Au Pair. Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of becoming a teacher, but I decided to pursue Au Pairing first. My goal for this experience is to develop as a person, learn a new language, immerse myself in different cultures and teach my host children new things. America has always been my top choice. I have always been intrigued by the American culture, and I believe that Au Pairing in America would be a wise decision. It would be an excellent combination of looking after children and experiencing the American culture. Child Care Experience
From November to December 2023, I helped out at the Little Angel Nursery with children from 2 to 12 years of age for twenty five hours a week. I prepared food, assisted with indoor and outdoor activities, taught, assisted with homework and supervised playtime. From January to October 2023, I took care of Cairo (1) for eight hours weekly. I prepared food, got child dressed, changed diapers, played, gave baths, tidied the child's room and put child down for naps. From March 2020 to May 2021, I took care of Keanu (8) and Harper (3). I did homeschooling, tutoring, prepared meals, gave baths, got children dressed, played educational activities, arts and crafts and sensory, gross and fine motor skills and supervised the children. From March 2018 to December 2019, I occasionally helped out at a Nursery School with children from 3 to 7 years of age. I prepared food, did learning activities and supervised playtime.

I am interested in being part of the exchange program, as I believe it will provide me with an opportunity to make new friends and gain knowledge about different cultures and beliefs. I want to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone by participating in this program. Additionally, I am excited to establish friendships with people from all over the world and create a second family in my host family. I believe that participating in this exchange program will allow me to explore and expand my knowledge in childcare, which is one of my future pursuits. I want to become an au pair to travel across the USA and learn more about American culture. I have always loved watching Disney Channel shows and movies about Hollywood and New York, and now I want to make that a reality by experiencing it for myself. I am looking for a loving family that can teach me about their culture and help me explore the USA. I have a lot of experience working with children and I really enjoy spending time with them. I want to become an Au Pair exchange program participant again because I love working with kids and I get along well with them. Kids love me and I still have a very strong relationship with my previous host family, my goal is to build the same relationship with my future host family. I have a very good relationship with kids, and my personality I am very outspoken. I always listen when spoken to and have the ability to follow instructions, I am a very dedicated and hard working person. My duties included preparing meals, bathing, dressing, playing games and learning activities and keeping him entertained. Lastly, I worked in high school (children 13-18). I want to become an Au Pair in the cultural exchange program, because there is so much that I would gain from this experience, cultural exchange, additional childcare experience, international work experience, International driving experience and the experience of gaining a family away from home. I am interested in becoming an Au Pair participant in the USA as it would be a great opportunity for me to continue helping children, which is something I love. My ultimate goal is to study Early Childhood Development and Foundation Phase teaching in the Education Department. At The Lebone Centre, I have gained many new skills that not only helped me work more effectively with children but also helped me learn valuable life skills. I absolutely love children the way they think never fails to amaze me and I feel that au pairing abroad will provide me not only with memories that will last a lifetime but also educate me on the different cultures. I also want to show my culture and how we do things in South Africa. I absolutely love traveling and with all the beautiful landscapes and cities that America has to offer it have definitely been on my travel list for ages!
