Security and Stability with our Au Pair Programs
Your EurAupair au pair will live in your home as a family member, and will be
available to assist with the care of your children for up to 45 hours per week.
You'll quickly appreciate the benefits of this arrangement. In home child care allows your children to play and learn in the comfortable,
familiar surroundings of your own home and neighborhood. And your children
will have the security
 of a new family member who can devote full attention to them - someone who
knows their daily routines and unique personalities and enjoys participating
in their daily growth and development.
Flexibility and Convenience
You and your au pair can schedule her child care duties over 5½ days a
week and up to 10 hours per day in any way that is convenient for you. Hectic
weekday mornings getting everyone ready for the day are eliminated with an
au pair's helping hands. In addition, au pairs are there to help when an
unexpected event (such as a sick child or a late meeting) demands it.
If you have school-age children, the au pair's schedule can be easily arranged
around their school breaks. (Au pairs must receive at least 1½ continuous
days off each week, one of which must be a weekend day, and at least one full
weekend free each month.)
Meeting Individual Needs
An au pair is not just a babysitter, but a "big sister" from an
exciting faraway land. Au pairs may be given the responsibility of infant
care (minimum three months and older) - from bathing and dressing to feeding
and diapering. They can entertain and instruct preschoolers by reading, playing
games, and taking them for walks and outings to the park. Au pairs can awaken
school-age children, and prepare and pack their lunches. They can bring the kids
to and from school, drive them to after-school activities, supervise homework,
or take them to the pediatrician's or dentist's office. When things get busy,
they can help with the grocery shopping and occasionally even prepare a
family meal. And all the while, your au pair can be enriching the lives of
your children by sharing knowledge of her home country, language and traditions.
Although heavy housework is not permitted, au pairs can share in routine
family chores and light housework such as making the kids' beds or helping
them straighten their rooms. In addition, the hours of au pair care are so
flexible, an au pair can watch the children when parents go out for an
evening or, perhaps, for an occasional short business trip or brief vacation.
The au pair, however, must not be left with total child care responsibilities
for extended periods or for more than 10 hours per day.
Quite simply, au pairs, although not trained professionally, can handle many
aspects of child care - responsibly and efficiently.

EurAupair can provide families with a large selection of au pair candidates, from a variety of European and other countries.
Fees include round-trip airfare from au pair's home country airport to yours.
EurAupair provides complete travel arrangements for your au pair - from her closest major airport to yours and back again at the successful completion of her program year.
