Child Care Experience
I worked at a primary school with children ages 7 to 9 years old for 25 hours a week and children ages 8 and 9 for 6 hours a week from April to June 2018. I would help the teachers with their curriculum, help out at fundraising events, supervise the students, coach netball, supervise their games, and learn from the teachers. From July to September 2018, I worked at an all girls school with children ages 6 to 9 years old for about 26 hours a week where I would help the girls learn the curriculum, supervise them, help out at carnival day, and help teach them tennis. I also worked at Creative Academy for the month of January 2016 for 30 hours per week. The children here were 4 to 6 years old and I helped plan and present the lessons, supervised them, and played with them. Currently, I babysit Gaby (10) and Tiago (5) a few times a month, as need, and have done so since 2015. When babysitting them, I supervise their homework, entertain them, and drive them to and from their various activities. Finally, since November 2018, I have babysat Itamar (15), Evitiar (12), and Omar (7) for 3 hours a week. I take them to and from school, provide general child care, and help them with their homework.
Sports, Interests and Hobbies
Reading, being in nature, shopping, watching movies and TV series, being with loved ones, baking, reading, teaching, swimming, netball, and softball.
I want to become part of an American family because I absolutely love young children which is why I have studied a degree in childhood development. As a 4th year student, I just completed 20 hours of practical teaching and I have thoroughly enjoyed guiding them, bonding with them, and seeing them develop and this is what I would like to do more of as an au pair. I want to be able to travel as well as learn from different people in a brand new setting. I feel like my biggest strength is patience as I believe that children need to develop at their own pace.
