Child Care Experience
From September 2023 to July 2024, I took care of Leopold (6), Celeste (10) and Artus (13), every day after school. I helped with homework, picked up the children from school, did reading, crafts, baking, baths, activities, drove the children to sport activities and prepared dinner. From September 2022 to July 2023, I took care of Leanardo (6) and Gabriel (1), after school on Wednesdays. I picked up the children from school, played outside, prepared meals, gave baths and did activities with the children. From November 2021 to July 2022, I took care of Oceane (2) and Alicia (4) for several hours per day. I picked up the children, played, gave baths, did activities, prepared dinner, put on their pajamas and put the children to bed. From January to July 2021, I took care of Elijah (4) and Esaiah (5) twice a month. I did activities with the children, prepared meals and gave baths.

Discovering another culture within a host family seems incredible to me. Moreover, I want to become bilingual in English, and living with an American family will encourage me to practice English every day and perfect my level. I believe I am capable of being an au pair because I am determined and work hard to achieve my goals. Your children will love me; I have no doubt about it. They will be in good hands with me!

I babysat Murilo (6) and Elisa (3mths) from October 2019 to March 2022. I prepared the older one for school, played, walked and spent time with the baby during the day and put her down for naps. I babysat Theo (3mthsZ) and Joao (newborn) from February 2016 until February 2024. I prepared meals, played with them, took them out for walks, and put them to bed at night. Lastly, I volunteered from March 2022 to November 2023 once a week taking care of a group of children ages 3 to 6 years old. I did story time with the children, played games and did educational activities with them, as well as arts and crafts and conversation circles.

I decided to be an au pair because I really like children. I would also like to improve my English and I want to get to know American culture. This is my dream! There are many qualities that are important for a successful Au Pair, but some that I consider most important include being patient, flexible and adaptable. We work with children of all ages, so it is important to know how to adapt to different situations and be patient when things don't go as planned. Being flexible is also essential, as sometimes we will have to change our schedules or plans. Having a positive attitude and willingness to learn new things will also help a lot. In addition to being a calm, careful, creative, caring person, easily adaptable and responsible in everything I do.

This is gonna be cliche but the main reason why I want to become an au pair is that love children, spending time and helping them grow! Also, I am a person who values my personal and professional development and an exchange program showed up as a great opportunity and experience to put this into practice. From February 2019 to June 2022, I took care of Vinicius (2). I prepared meals, did laundry, bathed and played with him. From July 2020 to April 2021, I took care of 15 kids from 2 to 3 years of age three times a week . I prepared meals, did play time activities and supervised the children. I have always dreamed about experiencing a new culture while living with a foreign family and I think this is the perfect opportunity. I have always loved kids so I could get the best of both worlds, by being surrounded by kids and also living with an American family in the US. That would help me develop as a person, helping me improve my English and learn more about a different culture from the eyes of natives.

I would like to become an au pair because I feel myself capable of contribute a lot to the growth journey of the kids. I will use all my studies about education and Pedagogy and my experiences taking care of many children in different ages to help the family with all demands necessaries. Furthermore, dealing with children and education is my 'Ikigai', something that I am passionate about it, so I would love to mix with an international experience having a cultural exchange. For sure, I am a flexible person, easy to adapt, used to follow rules and work with kids, witch makes this program perfect for me. I would like to be an Au Pair to improve my English, spend more time and help with children's education, live for a long period of time in the USA, learn more about another culture and teach a little about my culture, get to know new places and people , be a little more independent. I consider myself qualified for the program because I am a communicative, responsible, mature person, capable of dealing with challenges and unforeseen situations that may arise during the period as an au pair, in addition to having experience with different ages and number of children.

I have experience in caring for children with special needs. I worked as a children's dentist assistant from April until July 2023. I used to call the patients and help them get ready for the dental chair, calm the children (6-15 years old), hand the instruments and hold the children's hands to make them feel better and safer. Between 2021-2022, I cared for Ana (8). I used to give her lunch, play with her, help her make the bed and clean the toys, help her with her homework, give her afternoon snacks, and help her get ready after showering.

I am interested in the program because I believe it will be a great experience for me to work in another country, improve my English and get to know a new culture, it will be a gap year from college where I can take a break from studying, I believe I will be a good au pair because I have experience and patience with children, I will treat children as if I were an older sister, care about what they think and what they want, help with their problems and be affectionate with them, not just see them as a job. I am also an organized and responsible person.

From 01/2023 to 02/2023 I cared for children ranging from newborn to 12 years old 5 days a week. I want two things: to rediscover myself and to make a difference in children's lives as I have been doing for a while. I find it's the perfect match, out of so many programs, to combine two things that I believe will help me continue grow for the better each day. I want my host family and kids to look back and think 'that person has taught me something' and feel impacted by me. I want to feel impacted by people around the world, especially children. I am qualified for the empathy I possess, the ability to always keep learning, to aid and be aided if needed. I am resilient and hard-working and determined to never give and always be better. And I feel I can pass those values to those around me and learn from theirs. I also want to travel and explore more of the world's multicultural communities and collect as many memories and experiences as I can.
