All of our au pairs we place in the U.S. speak English, but for many, it is not their native language. Immersion in an English-speaking culture improves their language skills, although EurAupair screens au pairs to be sure their level of English is appropriate and will allow them to be functional on their very first day in the U.S. Our objective evaluation of the au pair’s English is provided to you as part of their application package, and you get a chance to interview your au pair prior to placing with her in order to ensure her English level matches your expectations.

From 07/2017 to 09/2022 I cared for Maeline (8) and Mathias (6) for 3 hours a week. My responsibilities included: helping with homework, doing activities, playing together, coloring activities and picking the kids up at school. From 04/2019 to 12/2023 I cared for Milan (12) for several hours a week. My responsibilities included: giving individual lessons, tutoring, preparing for exams, and helping with homework (English, Spanish, French, history, etc.). From 11/2022 to 01/2023 I cared for Amadou (17) for several hours a week. My responsibilities included: helping with afternoon snack and doing activities with a teenager who has autism. From 06/2019 to 03/2024 I cared for Alix (1 month) 4 times a month. My responsibilities included: doing activities, taking care of her, preparing lunch, cooking, giving baths, early childhood activities and motor function activities. From 07/2024 to 08/2024 I cared for Archer once a week. My responsibilities included: preparing breakfast and lunch, playing board games with him, reading books, playing with Legos, taking him to the park or pool, or going for a walk in the forest.

I like to take care of children and I am very attentive to their needs. I have experience with children who have special needs and have my First Aid training. I want to become an au pair since I was a child because I love take care of children and I always had the desire to learn English and discovering the American culture. It's the perfect program to combine the two. I had the experience to taking care of a little boy Baptiste (6 years old), every Wednesday during 7 months, and I loved this experience. In August 2023, I cared for a group of children at a Summer Camp. My responsibilities included: playing with them, making them eat, helping during shower time, putting them to bed, wake them up in the morning. I cared about their personal hygiene like watch out while they were brushing their teeth, I took care of their belongings (clothes, etc.), I read them stories and I listened to them. From March to May 2022, I cared for Sofia (1). I played with her, prepared her meals, took her for a walk and washed the dishes. From April to June 2024, I cared for Mathe () and Celeste (). I played with them, made them eat and put the children in bed. I helped with their personal hygiene: brushing teeth, hands, face. I read them stories, listening to them and I additionally kept the house in order, for example washing the dishes.

I’d like to take part in the Au Pair program in the USA because, first of all, I’d like to discover a new culture. In fact, I was in the international section of my high school, so my teachers introduced me to a little part of their English culture and made me want to discover in completely. What’s more, I’d like to take part in this program to put in practice what I’ve learned about the English language and to continue learning. I would like to be able to discover a new life as well as a new culture and above all to join a family and beyond taking care of the children, to play the role of a big sister and not an employee. I think I can bring a lot to the children, and above all be very present for them.
