Find a French Speaking Au Pair With EurAupair
EurAupair began sponsoring au pairs for the United States from European countries more than 25 years ago. We have the legal designation from the U.S. Department of State and the experience to help you find the right au pair for your family. We place au pairs from five different continents now, but European au pairs remain at the heart of our program.
All of our au pairs we place in the U.S. speak English, but for many, it is not their native language. Immersion in an English-speaking culture improves their language skills, although EurAupair screens au pairs to be sure their level of English is appropriate and will allow them to be functional on their very first day in the U.S. Our objective evaluation of the au pair’s English is provided to you as part of their application package, and you get a chance to interview your au pair prior to placing with her in order to ensure her English level matches your expectations.
Language is just one area where EurAupair provides screening and support for au pairs and families. We understand the cultures our au pairs come from, and we work hard to bridge those gaps so everyone’s experience is a good one.
We tell families that hosting an au pair is like adding another person to their family. At EurAupair, we consider ourselves part of that family, as well. We are committed to enriching the au pair experience for everyone involved in any ways we can.
Benefits of a French-Speaking Au Pair
Language is one of the exciting parts of the cultural exchange between au pairs and their host families. While au pairs strive to improve their English, they share some of their native language with the families they live with. Hosting a French-speaking au pair, for example, can offer several benefits:
- If your children are studying French in school, an au pair who can rehearse their lessons with them can accelerate their fluency. Most school language programs incorporate some cultural learning, too. What better way to learn about French culture than living with an au pair from France?
- French cuisine is always popular in the U.S., especially in upscale restaurants. Many menus are written in French and can be difficult for a non-French speaker to decipher. The language skills you could pick up from a French-speaking au pair could even enhance your next trip to a popular French restaurant.
A French-speaking au pair for the United States in not an unusual request. Some families looking for a French-speaking, live-in nanny actually end up hosting an au pair instead. With the emphasis on cultural exchange in the au pair program, most families feel they get more out of this child care option.
Trust EurAupair for the Best Au Pair Experience
EurAupair works hard to ensure families and au pairs have the best experience as possible, and it’s quite likely lifelong friendships form from the au pair experience. If you’re ready to provide the opportunity of a lifetime for your kids and for an au pair, contact EurAupair today.

I would like to be able to discover a new life as well as a new culture and above all to join a family and beyond taking care of the children, to play the role of a big sister and not an employee. I think I can bring a lot to the children, and above all be very present for them. My experience working with children in France pushed me to go and experience this adventure in the United States and pushed me to offer attention and love to other children. I have first-aid training and experience working with kids with special needs.

I have a deep passion for American culture, particularly its language, music, appeal, and landscapes. Caring for children aged 4 to 13 has strengthened my commitment to their well-being and education. I've introduced children to various activities, such as new sports, music genres, cuisines… My top priority has always been children's safety, and I've developed conflict resolution skills. These experiences have allowed me to form meaningful connections with the children I've cared for. That's why I feel qualified to participate in the EurAuPair program. Also, I easily adapt to new environments, having traveled alone across Europe as soon as i turned 18. While my English skills are a work in progress, I'm eager to become an au pair to develop them. This experience is a chance to improve my English and prepare my future career as a flight attendant.

Lastly, I value the opportunity to build lasting relationships with a host family, learning from their lifestyle and creating unforgettable memories. Overall, participating as an au pair combines my love for cultural exploration, childcare, language development, and meaningful connections with a host family.

I love being in contact with children, creating activities for them, helping them to achieve their goals, supporting them so that they can blossom fully during their childhood and adolescence. For me, it's also a way of living out the role of "sister" that I wasn't lucky enough to have. I would be delighted to be part of your family. I like helping kids acquire new skills, express themselves, create, develop and blossom on a daily basis. I want to support them and be someone with whom they can feel at ease.

I am a certified teacher and just finished the year teaching second graders. I also am a scout leader. I am deeply passionate about cultural exchange and personal growth, which are the primary reasons I wish to become an au pair exchange program participant in the USA. Living with an American family and being immersed in their daily life will provide me with a unique and invaluable opportunity to understand and appreciate a different culture firsthand. This experience will allow me to expand my horizons, learn new customs, and improve my English language skills in a real-world context.
