Child Care Experience
I was an Au pair from July 2012 to July 2013 taking care of Heidi (1mth) and Amalia (2). I changed diapers, brushed their teeth, got them dressed, prepared meals and bottles, went for walks with them, drove them to play dates, took them to the story time at the library or to the zoo, put them down for naps, played with them, read books to them, cleaned up after them and occasionally put them to bed at night. I was an Au pair for a second year from July 2013 to July 2014 taking care of Riley (3) and Cailyn (5). I helped them with morning routines, prepared meals and healthy snacks, drove them to school and activities, went for walks with them, put them down for naps, bathed them, played with them, read books, organized their bedrooms, did their laundry and occasionally put them to bed at night. I did an internship at an elementary school from September to December 2016 working with children ages 6 to 9 years old. I was a math and German language tutor for Ummu (8) from August 2015 to June 2017. I'm doing a second internship at an elementary school from February until July 2018 working with children ages 6 to 9 years old.

I want to become an Au Pair (again) because of the whole package that comes with this program. In my opinion, taking care of children, living with a host family and practicing my English skills is the perfect combination for a time spent abroad. After my two year experience as an Au Pair in the USA, I am aware of both; the upsides and the downsides of this job and I still believe that it is an amazing experience and just perfect for me. I am a very responsible caretaker, safety is always my first priority. But nevertheless, I believe that the job is not only about supervising children while their parents are at work. There's so much more to it than making sure they are safe. I want your kids to have a great time and have fun while I am with them so you will have happy children (and a happy Au Pair) to come home to.
