Why to choose an Au Pair from Latvia?
- Hard-working. Our winters are cold, for 6 months of the year it is actually snowing or raining here. However, winners have to think ahead and be prepared for both easy and hard times. We are good at planning and improvising as well.
- Open-minded. The landscape is flat in Latvia, so we look far, we look wide and we don't like our vision to be hampered by anything closer than the horizon. We don't always smile but when we do, it comes from the heart!

I babysat Isabella (3mths) from August 2020 to August 2021. I fed and bathed her, changed diapers and played with her. I volunteered for the Red Cross from January 2023 to January 2024 taking care of children ages 5 to 10 years old. I taught them first aid and supervised meal times. I want to be an au pair because I want to live the experience to be an au pair being around my passion, such as taking care of kids. I feel that being an au pair in the United States I will learn a lot about a totally different culture from mine, a totally different climate and I will extend my knowledge in childcare even more, I will learn new schedules and new activities to do with my host kids. From 03/2023 to 05/2023 I cared for Emanuel (2) for 3 days a week., 6 hours a day. I would feed him, play games, do activities and changing diapers and bathing, g for a walk, and do the homework with him. From 06/2023 to 08/2023 I cared for two children ages 2 and 8 for 4 days a week. I would play, walk, feed and activities with them. From 09/2023 to 02/2024 I cared for Kendra (5) 5 days a week. I have always been a dreamer, since I was little I dreamed of traveling and seeing places, I love fashion and the United States is one of the main countries where a lot of fashion has been born. It is a country that I love and there are many places that I have dreamed of visiting for a long time. The reason why I want to be an au pair is because I think it is the right program to travel, meet and fulfill my purposes, I am a person who loves children, I have always had this maternal instinct and I could say that being a mother is one of my big dreams I love being around children, playing with them, entertaining them, giving them lots of love and teaching them new things. My reason for participating in this program is to improve my English, get to know new cultures, and experience living abroad. And of course meeting my new playmates because I love kids so much. From August 2023 to present, I take care of children in a Kindergarten group from 1 to 6 years of age. I prepare food, do crafts, gymnastics, meet with the parents, help in the kitchen and with laundry. From January 2028 to present, I help out with a sports group of children from 6 to 11 years of age for 1.5 hours a week. I train athletics, supervise and organize the trainings. From October 2022 to present, I occasionally take care of Jan (8) and Melina (4). I cook and bake with the children, help with homework, clean their rooms with the children, drive to playdates, prepare food, go shopping with the children, take them to playgrounds and put the children to bed. On April 7th 2022, I took care of Max (9) for one evening. I looked after the child and put the child to bed. I select the Au Pair program is a fabulous opportunity to interact with children. I think that the education of children is very important and in caring for them you need love, responsibility, vocation and feeling with them. I consider being aupair, a very enriching experience, to get to know better the American culture living with an American family, also have the opportunity to travel in U.S., while I improve my English knowledge, doing one of my favorites things which is taking care of children.
