Why to choose an Au Pair from Latvia?
- Hard-working. Our winters are cold, for 6 months of the year it is actually snowing or raining here. However, winners have to think ahead and be prepared for both easy and hard times. We are good at planning and improvising as well.
- Open-minded. The landscape is flat in Latvia, so we look far, we look wide and we don't like our vision to be hampered by anything closer than the horizon. We don't always smile but when we do, it comes from the heart!
- Cooking enthusiasts. Cooking at home is very common in Latvia and we say almost nothing about it just because we have learned that it is not polite to speak with a full mouth. Food is to be enjoyed - not to be discussed.

I am very eager to participate in the exchange program in the United States, as I see several fundamental points that would be valuable for my future. Firstly, this opportunity would allow me to deepen my skills in a foreign language, which has become an essential asset for my personal and professional future. This experience would also be a precious chance to step out of my comfort zone, encouraging a better understanding of myself. It would enable me to explore a new country, discover a new culture, and embrace new customs. I worked at a preschool from July to December 2017 taking care of children ages 2 to 5 years old. I supervised their groupwork, did arts and crafts with them, supervised snack time and accompanied them to the bathroom. I worked at another preschool from September to November 2019 taking care of children ages 2 to 5 years old. I assisted the teacher with various activities. From February to July 2022, I was an assistant at a preschool taking care of children ages 2 to 5 years old. From August to October 2022, I worked at a preschool taking care of children ages 2 to 5 years old doing creative activities with them and assisting the teacher. Finally, I babysat Mariham (10mths) and Isabella (1) from February to December 2024. I did fun activities with them, helped their motor development, spent time outdoors, played and explored nature.

I want and desire to participate in the Au Pair exchange program in the United States of America because I believe I'm someone who easily adapts to a new environment.
