Find a French Speaking Au Pair With EurAupair
EurAupair began sponsoring au pairs for the United States from European countries more than 25 years ago. We have the legal designation from the U.S. Department of State and the experience to help you find the right au pair for your family. We place au pairs from five different continents now, but European au pairs remain at the heart of our program.
All of our au pairs we place in the U.S. speak English, but for many, it is not their native language. Immersion in an English-speaking culture improves their language skills, although EurAupair screens au pairs to be sure their level of English is appropriate and will allow them to be functional on their very first day in the U.S. Our objective evaluation of the au pair’s English is provided to you as part of their application package, and you get a chance to interview your au pair prior to placing with her in order to ensure her English level matches your expectations.
Language is just one area where EurAupair provides screening and support for au pairs and families. We understand the cultures our au pairs come from, and we work hard to bridge those gaps so everyone’s experience is a good one.
We tell families that hosting an au pair is like adding another person to their family. At EurAupair, we consider ourselves part of that family, as well. We are committed to enriching the au pair experience for everyone involved in any ways we can.
Benefits of a French-Speaking Au Pair
Language is one of the exciting parts of the cultural exchange between au pairs and their host families. While au pairs strive to improve their English, they share some of their native language with the families they live with. Hosting a French-speaking au pair, for example, can offer several benefits:
- If your children are studying French in school, an au pair who can rehearse their lessons with them can accelerate their fluency. Most school language programs incorporate some cultural learning, too. What better way to learn about French culture than living with an au pair from France?
- French cuisine is always popular in the U.S., especially in upscale restaurants. Many menus are written in French and can be difficult for a non-French speaker to decipher. The language skills you could pick up from a French-speaking au pair could even enhance your next trip to a popular French restaurant.
A French-speaking au pair for the United States in not an unusual request. Some families looking for a French-speaking, live-in nanny actually end up hosting an au pair instead. With the emphasis on cultural exchange in the au pair program, most families feel they get more out of this child care option.

I want to become an AuPair because it’s a unique way to experience U.S. culture from the inside. Living with a host family and sharing their daily life is, in my opinion, the best way to truly discover a country. I love spending time with children they are spontaneous, full of energy, and help us see life in a simple, joyful way. I enjoy creating a fun and caring environment where they feel free to express themselves. I believe I’m well-qualified because I’m cheerful, curious, and always bring positive energy. My friends say I create a trusting atmosphere and that I’m a good listener. I adapt easily to new environments and have no trouble adjusting to different routines or situations.

For me, being an au pair is about supporting the child on a daily basis, like a big sister, in the simplest way possible, and it’s a role that suits me perfectly. I truly care about helping kids grow, and for me, being an au pair is much more than just a job. I love making them laugh, playing with them, and doing simple activities that add to their well-being. Living with a family is also a big plus because it allows you to build strong bonds, like being part of the family. I see it as a big sister role — something I naturally do with my own siblings, especially my 6-year-old sister. I've worked in elementary and middle schools, which truly confirmed my desire to work with young people; I enjoyed listening to them, encouraging them, and even offering advice when they needed someone to talk to.

As the eldest sibling of 5 kids, I was lucky enough to look after my brothers and sisters throughout their childhood. These experiences have given me a deep sense of responsibility and a genuine love for this role. In caring for them, I've learned to be calm, empathetic and a good listener, qualities that are essential for establishing a relationship of trust with children. My goal is to share joyful moments with you, to contribute to your children's well-being and to become fully integrated into your daily life.

I wish to participate in an Au Pair exchange program in the United States, which is an enriching opportunity that allows me not only to discover America, its people and their culture but also to develop personal and professional skills by being immersed in a family, taking care of children, which would help me improve my English. I am responsible, patient, cheerful, pleasant, and have a very good relationship with children, along with an ability to adapt. I would be delighted to share my culture and traditions with you (like French crêpes), as I believe it will enrich our mutual experience as well as get to know each other better.

I'm very open-minded, caring, responsible and always enthusiastic. Those close to me describe me as a ray of sunshine who's always smiling and full of positive energy. I'm also very flexible. I’ve chosen to become an au pair to discover life and share moments with a new family, while being immersed in another culture and language. I'd like the family to consider me as one of its members. I'd like us to share unforgettable moments as a family, and I'd like the children to want to discover my country. I'd also like to keep a link with the family afterwards and be able to come back to see them.

There's no better way to experience America than by being part of an American family. Taking care of children is something I truly enjoy. My most memorable moments have been looking after my Italian cousins during summers in Marrakech. I'm patient, responsible, and love engaging with kids through activities, teaching, and caring for them. I would like to become your au pair because I love children deeply! I want to share my French culture through food, cartoons or activities so that I can create beautiful memories with them and accompany them during this year! I could organize painting, drawing or craft workshops to stimulate their imagination.

I would like to become an au pair to discover a new country and a new culture than mine by living with an American family. I want to be able to take care of a child, love them and watch them grow. This year will also allow me to take a break from study while still improving my English. I feel like my strengths to become an au pair are my patience, my seriousness, the fact that I like to take care of people and especially kids. I also really love to organize activities like craft or games.
