All of our au pairs we place in the U.S. speak English, but for many, it is not their native language. Immersion in an English-speaking culture improves their language skills, although EurAupair screens au pairs to be sure their level of English is appropriate and will allow them to be functional on their very first day in the U.S. Our objective evaluation of the au pair’s English is provided to you as part of their application package, and you get a chance to interview your au pair prior to placing with her in order to ensure her English level matches your expectations.

I took care of Jonas from the age of 1.5 to 9 years old, from April 2017 to September 2025. My responsibilities included meal preparation, feeding him, helping with homework, outings, and activities. I took care of Logan from 3 months to 3 years old, from September 2022 to July 2025. My responsibilities included preparing meals, organizing activities, supervising nap time, light housekeeping, bath time, diaper changes, and bottle feeding. I worked with a children’s group aged 3 to 10 years old in October 2025 for two days. From September to November 2025, I took care of Hugo (7) and Jade (5) every Saturday morning for four hours. I prepared breakfast, gave showers, helped the children get dressed, played board games, and went for walks. From September 2024 to March 2025, I took care for Timeo (7) and Jules (5) on Wednesday afternoons. I prepared lunch, helped with homework and kept the children occupied. From June to July 2025, I took care of Juliette (9) and Clara (6) for eight hours a week. I picked up the children from school, prepared afternoon snacks, and helped with homework.

I would like to join the au pair program in the United States to discover a new culture and have an enriching experience abroad and improving my English. I would like to work in the U.S. later in international business, and living with a host family would allow me to practice English every day. I have gained solid experience in childcare through regular babysitting. I have had the opportunity to care for children of various ages, primarily young children, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. My responsibilities included supervising them, playing with them, helping them brush their teeth, and managing their bedtime routine. From January 2021 to March 2025, I also occasionally cared for Soan, who was between 5 and 9 years old during that time. I cooked dinner, read books with him, and took him to the playground. Between March 2025 and July 2025, I occasionally looked after Ludmila, who was 3 years old, and Noah, who was 12, when their parents went out. I played with them, prepared and served their meals, read to them, and supervised nap time. In addition, from April 2024 to July 2025, I worked with a group of children aged 3 to 5 in a day camp center during school holidays, where I created games, helped with meals, and read stories before nap time.

I want to be part of the au pair exchange program because I have always wanted to discover new cultures and new countries. I also work in a day camp, looking after children from 3 to 12 years old, and I have even prepared treasure hunts for them. I believe my strengths are that I am calm, patient, and fun. When I was 12, I had the opportunity to spend six months alone in Germany with a host family, discovering a new culture. This experience taught me a lot about myself, helped me grow, and allowed me to meet new people and experience a different way of life. I promised myself that if I ever had the chance to go abroad again, I would take it. So, I waited until I finished my schooling before pursuing the au pair experience. I want to participate in shared moments with my host family like preparing the Thanksgiving meal.
