Find a French Speaking Au Pair With EurAupair
EurAupair began sponsoring au pairs for the United States from European countries more than 25 years ago. We have the legal designation from the U.S. Department of State and the experience to help you find the right au pair for your family. We place au pairs from five different continents now, but European au pairs remain at the heart of our program.
All of our au pairs we place in the U.S. speak English, but for many, it is not their native language. Immersion in an English-speaking culture improves their language skills, although EurAupair screens au pairs to be sure their level of English is appropriate and will allow them to be functional on their very first day in the U.S. Our objective evaluation of the au pair’s English is provided to you as part of their application package, and you get a chance to interview your au pair prior to placing with her in order to ensure her English level matches your expectations.
Language is just one area where EurAupair provides screening and support for au pairs and families. We understand the cultures our au pairs come from, and we work hard to bridge those gaps so everyone’s experience is a good one.
We tell families that hosting an au pair is like adding another person to their family. At EurAupair, we consider ourselves part of that family, as well. We are committed to enriching the au pair experience for everyone involved in any ways we can.
Benefits of a French-Speaking Au Pair
Language is one of the exciting parts of the cultural exchange between au pairs and their host families. While au pairs strive to improve their English, they share some of their native language with the families they live with. Hosting a French-speaking au pair, for example, can offer several benefits:
- If your children are studying French in school, an au pair who can rehearse their lessons with them can accelerate their fluency. Most school language programs incorporate some cultural learning, too. What better way to learn about French culture than living with an au pair from France?
- French cuisine is always popular in the U.S., especially in upscale restaurants. Many menus are written in French and can be difficult for a non-French speaker to decipher. The language skills you could pick up from a French-speaking au pair could even enhance your next trip to a popular French restaurant.
A French-speaking au pair for the United States in not an unusual request. Some families looking for a French-speaking, live-in nanny actually end up hosting an au pair instead. With the emphasis on cultural exchange in the au pair program, most families feel they get more out of this child care option.
Trust EurAupair for the Best Au Pair Experience

Along with being a big sister with a brother 11 years younger, I also hold the BAFA, a recognized diploma for childcare, and have worked in a daycare center. Thanks to my training and experience, I have developed essential skills such as patience, creativity and listening. I enjoy accompanying children in their daily lives, teaching them new things and contributing to their development in a caring way. I'd also love to experience the great American holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, decorating the house with my family and preparing meals together for these special occasions. I look forward to sharing unique moments filled with love and joy with your family. In exchange, I could introduce you to French specialties and share them with you.

*I have first-aid training* I want to become an au pair exchange program participant in the USA because in my opinion it's one of the most enriching experiences of a lifetime, and I feel more ready than ever to start this program, and moreover to go far away from my country. I want to discover a whole new culture, very different from my own, and be able to immerse myself in it by living with an American family and doing what I love most, which is babysitting. I'm a very curious person, who always needs to go on adventures and discover new people, new ways of thinking and living. I'm also very excited at the idea of being able to perfect my English and use it in everyday life.

I would like to become an au pair because I think it is an experience that could be unforgettable. I love taking care of children and playing with them. One of my greatest strengths I think is the family spirit because I come from a family of 3 children and we do a lot of family outings: skiing, canoeing, jet skiing, tree climbing, hiking... I know how to adapt to each child and their different needs.

I work full-time in an elementary school helping different classes. I always dreamed about the United States, and I always loved taking care of children. I want to be an au pair because I grew up to be deeply connected with kids, having strong maternal instincts. It mostly is because of the fact that my mother is a kindergarten teacher and used to take me with her when my school year was over to help her organize her school’s musical show. During these moments, I was always the one reassuring the kids with stage fright and taking care of them when it wasn’t their time to perform. As I feel connected with children, I want to be an au pair.

For me, being an au pair is about supporting the child on a daily basis, like a big sister, in the simplest way possible, and it’s a role that suits me perfectly. I truly care about helping kids grow, and for me, being an au pair is much more than just a job. I love making them laugh, playing with them, and doing simple activities that add to their well-being. Living with a family is also a big plus because it allows you to build strong bonds, like being part of the family. I see it as a big sister role — something I naturally do with my own siblings, especially my 6-year-old sister. I've worked in elementary and middle schools, which truly confirmed my desire to work with young people; I enjoyed listening to them, encouraging them, and even offering advice when they needed someone to talk to.

Child Care Experience
In July 2023, I took care of children at an overnight summer camp for one week, working with kids aged 6 to 14. My responsibilities included helping with mealtimes, setting up the camp center and tents, organizing the children's calm time, leading activities and games, and creating a rafting boat from start to finish (designing plans, gathering materials, and building the boat). In August 2023, I participated in a three-week overnight summer camp with children aged 5 to 13. I was responsible for managing a group of around 10 children, assisting with bathroom and breakfast routines, playing card games, accompanying the children to the park and pool, and leading creative activities such as tote bag painting, Fino clay modeling, jewelry-making, and crafting with heat-sealed beads. In March 2025, I worked for one week at an after-school center with children aged 3 to 10. My responsibilities included doing crafts, organizing sports and group games, assisting with mealtimes, and helping manage the children.

*I am First AID Certificated* I would love to come to the United States as an au pair for the following reasons: I enjoy taking care of children, being attentive to their needs, organizing activities, comforting them when necessary, and helping them grow and discover their boundaries. I’m also very curious to explore what lies beyond European borders, to learn about the history of other countries, especially the United States, which has always fascinated me. Immersing myself in American culture and practicing English in the U.S. is, in my opinion, the best way to improve my language skills.

Child Care Experience
From August 2024 to February 2025, I took care of Lohan (4 months), Kerian (6) and Lyam (3) on about fifteen different times. From November 2024 to January 2025, I took care of Abby (4) several times per month. I gave baths, went on outings, did creative activities with the children, prepared meals and put the children to bed. I'm qualified because I'm a mature person with experience in children and the working world, and I've already studied for 1 year in Canada away from my family and friends. I enjoy supporting kids' development, sharing time with them and watching them grow. This is a field that truly excites me, and I look forward to bringing my energy and kindness to your children. I wish to participate in an Au Pair exchange program in the United States, which is an enriching opportunity that allows me not only to discover America, its people and their culture but also to develop personal and professional skills by being immersed in a family, taking care of children, which would help me improve my English. I am responsible, patient, cheerful, pleasant, and have a very good relationship with children, along with an ability to adapt. I would be delighted to share my culture and traditions with you (like French crêpes), as I believe it will enrich our mutual experience as well as get to know each other better.
