Child Care Experience
I've looked after Billy (3) and Ian (2) since April 2022. I do all child care related duties including meal preparation, diaper change, getting the children dressed, brushing their teeth, playing with them and putting them to bed. In June 2025, I looked after Tor (5), Elias (6) and Marta (7). I played with them, prepared meals, took them to the playground, did arts and crafts, and spent time outdoors. I was a handball referee from 2022 to 2024 taking care of children ages 9 to 12 years old. My responsibilities included refereeing matches, explaining rules in a clear and pedagogical way, comforting children who were upset, and making sure that everyone felt seen, understood, and treated fairly. Finally, I've babysat Lisa (4) since August 2025 once a week. I play with her, prepare meals, take her to the beach or walks, and do fun activities with her.

I want to be an au pair because I really want to experience America and see it the way it looks in the movies. I love to travel, and I have always wanted to visit the USA. I want to experience their culture and traditions that do not exist in Sweden. I would like to live or study in another country; it has always been my dream. I also like kids, and they usually like me too, so I thought it was a perfect opportunity. The best thing about spending time with kids is seeing their development and how they learn new things. I think my strengths are that I am pedagogical and enjoy teaching children new things, such as how to play a sport or, for example, when I teach my niece some English words. I know I would be a great au pair because of my ability to adapt, socialize, and talk to new people.

In August 2025 I cared for children ages 4 to 11 at a wedding. My responsibilities included supervising a group of kids during a wedding, playing with them and doing activities. From 009/2023 to 04/2024 I cared for Colynn (7) 4 days a week, a couple hours a day. My responsibilities included dressing time, feeding him breakfast, taking him to and from school, playing board games, doing creative games, etc., giving him a snack, and helping with homework. In July 2025 I cared for Sarah (6) 4 days a week. My responsibilities included: feeding her breakfast, dressing time, assisting with summer homework, playing indoor games, doing outdoor games, going to the park, going on walks, doing crafts (painting, drawing, scrapbooking...), and reading.

Becoming an au pair is a wonderful opportunity for me to combine my desire to experience a new culture and improve my English, all while doing something I truly love: taking care of children. I love taking care of and playing with kids. My work experiences taught me to be thorough, careful, and organized, qualities that prove invaluable on a daily basis, especially with kids, where patience is sometimes truly tested.

I took care of Yage Lin, who was 18 months old, from March 2025 to June 2025. I provided early childhood education, created an English-only language environment, coordinated extracurricular classes, drove the child to and from activities, accompanied the child during outdoor play, and handled bedtime reading and soothing. I also took care of Juncheng Wang, who was 7 years old, from June 2025 to September 2025. I assisted with homework and managed daily routines. I also oversaw extracurricular activities, including coordination and transportation, and I helped foster social skills and encouraged positive friendships. In addition, I have been taking care of Doris, who is 13 years old, and Brian, who is 12 years old, from September 2025 to ongoing. I manage their screen time, assist with homework, address learning gaps, encourage physical activities, and provide regular updates and planning support.

I like to make them smile, for example by making funny faces when they are upset to help them feel better. I worked at a summer camp, where I learned how to take care of a small group of children. *** First AID*** I would like to become an AuPair because I love children, and I think it would be a great opportunity to work with them more directly. I would especially like to learn about the differences between Brazilian and American children. I love cultural exchange, and I believe this experience will help me improve my English through complete immersion in the culture. My mother has already worked for a very kind German couple who came to live in Recife for a period of time, and she still talks about them. She shares stories about their culture, language, and customs. It was a very positive cultural exchange experience for her, and I hope it will be the same for me.

I was responsible for managing daily routines, preparing snacks, organising educational activities, and supervising playtime. In February 2026 I cared for Aruhi (3) for 9 hours. I supervised the child and tidied up the play areas after activities. From 02/2026 to 05/2026 I cared for children ages 3-6 for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
