From 02/2021 to 09/2021 I cared for Danna (4) for 5 hours a day, 4 days a week. I would help to bathe, dress, brush her hair, sleep and tell her stories. From 03/2023 to 06/2023 and then from 02/2025 to 07/2025 I cared for Zoe (11 months) for 4 hours a day, 4 days a week. First of all, becoming an au pair exchange program participant in the USA is the opportunity to keep on working with children since that is what I like the most. Also, because I want to improve my English oral skills, visit new places, learn about a new culture and share my own with my host family. Secondly, I consider I am responsible, independent, attentive, honest, empathic, hardworking and lovely. All those personaly traits are bland skills I can use for taking care of the children and making of this experience the best one ever. Furthermore, all my knowledge and the experience working with children as a nurse assistant is the most valuable strength I have for assiting the children in any urgency or emergency. Also, I know how to give First Aid Assistance in any unexpected situation.
Child Care Experience
From 07/2024 to 11/2024 I cared for Sara (5) for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. I helped her with her homework and accompanied her to her swimming and skating classes. We shared unforgettable moments playing, dancing, cooking, and doing her hair, enjoying every activity together. From 04/2024 to 05/2024 I cared for Julieta (6 months) 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. I was responsible for bathing and dressing her, changing her diapers, preparing her bottle and meals. Additionally, I spent time playing with her and doing early stimulation activities to help her start crawling. From 02/2025 to 03/2025 I cared for children ages 1-6 for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I assisted in coordinating classes and activities such as games, robotics, experiments, crafts, motor skills, and pre-writing exercises.

Being an au pair is my biggest dream. I started doing activities related to children seriously when I was a nursing student. I used to be a volunteer who collected donations, sell shirts and souvenirs to buy school supplies for children who are needy and far from the city. After graduation, I gained experience in childcare to improve my skills in taking better care of children by volunteering as a teaching assistant on my holidays.

I was responsible for her daily care, including hygiene, meals, routines, activities, and overall well-being. I also cared for Martin Olmos Romero, 9 years old, from June 2024 to July 2024. My responsibilities included outdoor and recreational activities, supporting his learning during vacations, preparing light meals, assisting with his evening routine, and encouraging organization and responsibility in a positive way. From August 2025 to November 2025, I took care of Salma Isabela Naranjo Barrera, 12 years old. I was responsible for picking her up from her school route, helping with her afternoon routine, accompanying her to extracurricular activities, supporting her with homework, preparing dinner, and helping her get ready for bed. I also cared for María José Roa Fajardo from January 2026 to February 2026. My responsibilities included feeding, diaper changes, bathing and dressing, supporting naps, taking her on outdoor walks, and engaging in activities to support her development.

I want to participate in an au pair program in the United States because I feel a very special connection with children. I truly enjoy spending time with them and watching them grow and learn. I also want to experience a new culture, travel, discover different lifestyles, and challenge myself in a new environment. I want to be an au pair because I really want to experience America and see it the way it looks in the movies. I love to travel, and I have always wanted to visit the USA. I want to experience their culture and traditions that do not exist in Sweden. I would like to live or study in another country; it has always been my dream. I also like kids, and they usually like me too, so I thought it was a perfect opportunity. The best thing about spending time with kids is seeing their development and how they learn new things. I think my strengths are that I am pedagogical and enjoy teaching children new things, such as how to play a sport or, for example, when I teach my niece some English words.
