I want to participate in shared moments with my host family like preparing the Thanksgiving meal. I would like to create memories with the children like preparing to go trick-or treating for Halloween or go watch a football match. When I was in junior high school, a foreign teacher from the United States told us how fascinating the world abroad could be. He encouraged me to visit his home country and learn more if I ever had the opportunity. Since I’ve been learning English since childhood, I’ve always been curious about what America is really like, whether it’s as free and democratic as we read in our textbooks. I want to experience its culture and history firsthand. Because I enjoy spending time with children and connect well with them, becoming an au pair and living with an American family feels like the perfect path for me. It not only allows me to fully experience American culture but also helps me explore a new way of building relationships with children in a different cultural environment.
