I babysat Zoe (14) and Alan (11) from February to June 2023. I took care of them and prepared meals. I babysat Aiden (3), Alek (4) and Andres (11) from April to June 2024. I drew and traced lines with them, helped them with their breakfast and homework. I worked at an educational center from January to December 2022 looking after children ages 5 to 13 years old. I took the children and picked them up from school. In February 2022, I took care of 7 to 12-year-old children at a children's center doing different activities with them such as drawing and homework, I also supervised their breakfast. I worked at a preschool from September to November 2019 taking care of children ages 1 to 3 years old. I helped the teacher organize the children, I sang with them, read stories, played, gave snacks, changed diapers and assisted with nap time.

From March to August 2024, I took care of Sara (10) for four hours, three days per week. I also planned physical activities like obstacle courses to help build strength. Additionally, I cared for a 5-year-old child named Neo from February 2023 to May 2023. My tasks included feeding, entertaining, playing, going on walks, and organizing small picnics.

I decided to take part in this exchange program because I had never been outside my home country before. One day, while having coffee with a friend, I shared how much I wanted to see the world. She suggested I consider an Au Pair exchange program, especially since I’m good with children and it would give me the chance to experience a new environment and way of life. I did my research and quickly realized this program was a perfect fit for me. I adapt to change fairly quickly, and I consider myself responsible, honest, hardworking, and persistent, both in my work and academic life.

I would like to become an au pair in the United States because I love taking care of children, and this experience will help me confirm my choice to work with them in the future. The BAFA training (French childcare diploma) gave me solid experience to care for children safely and playfully. My past experiences babysitting, working in day camp centers, and supporting children in foster care or people with disabilities helped me develop valuable skills that will be strong assets as an au pair. Being a driver is also an advantage, as it allows me to safely accompany children in their daily activities. I have already visited the United States and enjoyed American culture. First of all, becoming an au pair exchange program participant in the USA is the opportunity to keep on working with children since that is what I like the most. Also, because I want to improve my English oral skills, visit new places, learn about a new culture and share my own with my host family. Secondly, I consider I am responsible, independent, attentive, honest, empathic, hardworking and lovely. All those personaly traits are bland skills I can use for taking care of the children and making of this experience the best one ever. Furthermore, all my knowledge and the experience working with children as a nurse assistant is the most valuable strength I have for assiting the children in any urgency or emergency. Also, I know how to give First Aid Assistance in any unexpected situation.

* First AID*** The Au Pair program is a great way to combine two things I love: discovering new cultures and caring for children. I’ve always had a natural connection with kids. As the eldest of a large and blended family, I helped raise my siblings, which taught me patience, kindness, and responsibility. I want to participate in the Au Pair program because I would like to live the experience of getting to know another culture and a country different from mine, learning their language and being able to improve my English with native people doing what I like, which is taking care of children. I consider myself qualified for the program because I have experience caring for children from 3 months to 12 years of age, I work as a substitute teacher's assistant in a school with children from 3 to 16 years of age as a writing and reading reinforcement teacher and also taking care of the children at the end of the student session.
