Child Care Experience
I've looked after Eliana (9) since July 2024. My duties include picking her up from school, preparing meals, help with homework, doing creative activities, and going to the beach or the library. I was a class assistant form April to June 2024 taking care of children ages 1 to 4 years old. My duties included preparing meals and feeding the toddlers, changed diapers and helped with potty training, I monitored playtime and cleaned up after the children. I've been a Grade RR assistant since July 2024 taking care 5-year-old children. My duties include assisting two students with their schoolwork, supervising mealtimes and recess and sometimes taking them to the beach. I looked after Monja (12) and Lune (13) from July 2021 to September 2022 once a month. I picked them up from school and dropped them off to their home, occasionally taking them to have coffee or do some outings together. When the parents had a date night, the girls would come over to my place and I organized a fun evening for them.

I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world and experiencing different cultures, which is what drew me to becoming an au pair. The opportunity to live in the USA, to learn firsthand about American life, and to share parts of my South African heritage with a host family is incredibly exciting to me. I believe my love for working with children, along with my skills in organizing engaging activities, make me a great fit for the EurAupair program. From January 2019 to May 2019, I took care of Abril and Miguel, who were 8 and 6 years old. My duties included preparing a snack after school, helping them with their homework, playing with them, and organizing their backpacks. From May 2024 to August 2024, I took care of Abeer, who was 10 years old. My duties included preparing a snack after school, helping with homework, playing with her after finishing the homework, and organizing her backpack. From January 2022 to August 2023, I took care of Caleb, who was 6 years old. My duties included waking him up and having his school uniform ready, preparing breakfast, taking him to school, tidying his room, picking him up from school, preparing a simple meal, looking after him, supervising his playtime, and feeding him dinner. From January 2021 to December 2021, I took care of a group of children aged 1 to 2 years. My duties included playing with them, giving them snacks, changing their diapers, and dressing them.

I want to become an au pair in the USA to experience cultural exchange, personal growth, and work with children, which I love. I took care of Adam, 4 to 11 years old, and Enora, 5 months to 5 years old, from October 2018 to January 2025. My responsibilities included preparing meals, bathing them, assisting with homework, and doing activities such as baking.

I want to be an au pair again because it was a rewarding experience that helped me grow as a person. I discovered how mature and independent I am, and being in Argentina, I didn’t fully realize it. During my time as an au pair, I confirmed my love for children and how happy I am when surrounded by them. I now have significant experience with children, especially living with them. Regarding the USA, I’m familiar with children's routines, customs, and holidays, and my favorite part, driving. I spent a lot of time driving, so I’m very experienced with the rules of the road.

I want to be an au pair in the USA because I’m eager to dive into a new culture, live with a family, and really get a feel for life in the States. I’ve always enjoyed working with kids, and this program seems like the perfect way to combine that with personal growth. From 08/2024 to 01/2025 I cared for Juan Cruz (4) for 5 days a week. I make him breakfast and lunch, bathe him, play with him, and during school time, I pick him up from school, supervise him doing his homework and sometimes I do basic cleaning around the house . From 04/2022 to 12/2023 I cared for children ages 11 to 16. I would teach, coordinate, play with them and accompany their faith. From 07/2024 to 01/2025 I cared for Francesca (1) 2-3 times a week. I would cook, bath, play and care for her.

I would like to be an au pair because I enjoy spending time with children and watching them grow up, seeing how they learn new things, while I do the same. Traveling abroad has always been a dream of mine. When I discovered the Au Pair program, it seemed perfect because it combined two things I love: spending time with children and traveling. It's also a great opportunity to improve my English, and what could be better than experiencing American culture from within an American family. I consider patience, responsibility, empathy, and organization to be my main strengths. I think they will be very useful for contributing to their development and fulfilling my role as an Au Pair. From December 2024 to March 2025, I took care of Ian (5) on the weekends. I prepared lunch and dinner, took the child to the park, watched movies, cooked with the child, did scientific experiments, crafts, gave baths and helped with the child's personal hygiene. From November 2024 to March 2025, I took care of Juan Jose and Juan Martin (10 year old twins) for five hours, Monday to Friday. I picked up the children from school, prepared lunch, took the children to soccer practice and helped with homework. For the month of October 2024, I helped out at the Mario Gaitan Yanguas Hospital with children from 0 to 2 years of age, for 12 hours a day Monday to Friday. I helped in the pediatrics and neonatal area, placed medication administration lines, changed diapers, took vital signs, gave baths, administered fluids and medication and helped with bottle feeding.

It is the perfect program since childcare is essential for my future career. I have enjoyed working with children since high school, I love teaching and helping them. My vocation has always been caring. Being an au pair is an opportunity to learn another language, culture, travel and open up my study opportunities. My greatest skill is that I am a nursing assistant and I have experience working in a hospital, so I am prepared to act in risky situations.

From 02/2020 to 08/2023 I cared for Samuel (4) and Jean (5) 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. I helped Jean with his homework and took him to soccer practice and guided Samuel to learn colors and shapes with didactic games. I prepared and fed them lunch. I played with them and took them to the park. From 04/2021 to 06/2021 I cared for Esteban (1) for 4 hours, 6 days a week. I helped take care of him while he was in the hospital, changing his clothes and diapers, giving him a bottle while his mother was away, bathing him, singing him to sleep, and taking care of him as needed or as directed by the doctor. From 05/2024 to 01/2025 I cared for children ages 5 to 10 for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. I helped care for and supervise children in their daily activities (eating, playing, resting, personal hygiene). I assisted teachers in conducting educational and recreational activities. I assisted in managing the learning environment and safety of the children. Promote social interaction and teamwork among the children.

I have always had a deep interest in American culture and in learning new ways of living and working. Participating in an exchange program and culture in the United States would give me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in this cultural environment, which would enrich my perspective and personal experience. Even more so if it is in the company of children, because they teach me to be a better person. I consider myself qualified as I have previous experience in childcare, which includes supervision and support in daily activities, as well as the ability to handle situations in a calm and efficient manner. I consider myself to be a proactive, responsible and cheerful person, qualities that I consider essential for the role of an Au Pair.
