Child Care Experience
I babysat Ithan (8mths) from January to August 2024. I fed and bathed him, changed diapers, dressed him, and put him down for naps. I looked after Maria (7) from January 2022 to January 2023. I helped with homework, did her hair, played with her, and prepared meals. I also looked after Sebastian (7) and Mariana (5) from January 2023 to January 2024. I did fun activities with them such as cycling, painting and cooking, I helped them get ready for school and helped with homework. I worked on a school bus route from February 2018 to February 2020 accompanying children ages 1 to 15 years old. My responsibility was to ensure their safety and well-being and do some entertaining activities with them. Lastly, I cared for a group of children ages 1 to 5 years old from January 2016 to January 2018. My responsibilities included reading, listening to children's songs, teaching letters and numbers, playing educational games and putting them down for naps. I've babysat Ithan (1) since January 2025 on weekends. I feed, bath, and dress him, play with him and do fun exercises with him.

First of all, I love spending time with children; they are the most loving and fun beings, and they help me grow so much as a person through everything they do. Growing up in Colombia has given me a deep appreciation for my culture and language, which I want to share with my future host family. My previous experience as a nanny has equipped me with the skills to teach children to read, write, and engage in creative activities like arts and crafts. I am patient, adaptable, and dedicated to creating an enriching environment that supports children's growth and development. From 03/2023 to 02/2024 I cared for Roma (1) from Monday to Friday. I would wake her up, transport her to kindergarten. From 03/2022 to 11/2023 I cared for Thiago (7) every Friday and Saturday. I would prepare meals, take care, take him to sports activities. From 01/2025 to 07/2025 I cared for a group of children (5-17) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I was responsible for helping children with homework, provide emotional support and make dinner.

I want to become an Au Pair because I truly enjoy spending time with children—sharing activities, helping with their routines, and being part of their growth. I love being present, listening, playing, and creating a warm and trusting environment. I have a big family and spend a lot of time with my two younger brothers, with whom I have a very special bond. Traveling abroad has always been a dream of mine. When I discovered the Au Pair program, it seemed perfect because it combined two things I love: spending time with children and traveling. It's also a great opportunity to improve my English, and what could be better than experiencing American culture from within an American family. I want to be an au pair in the USA because I’m eager to dive into a new culture, live with a family, and really get a feel for life in the States. I’ve always enjoyed working with kids, and this program seems like the perfect way to combine that with personal growth. I have completed the knowledge and skill evaluations for the Emergency Care & Safety Institute Course. From November 2021 to March 2022, I cared for Damian (1). I've been looking after children as I've been working as a group leader in extra-curricular and day-care centers since I graduated from high school, and I love spending time with children, teaching them things and helping them grow. I've decided to become an aupair in the United States because I want to mix my two passions, traveling and taking care of children. I enjoy helping people and being there when they need support. Doing a good job and helping others gives me a real sense of purpose. With children, I find it's important to play outside, to discover the world and do other fun things. I like to bake and cook and could teach your kids how to make an authentic quiche Lorraine. I would be happy to do crafts such as painting and coloring with your kids. I have already had several jobs and experiences in the working world. I also volunteered for an organization (AFEV) that helps disadvantaged kids, and I mentored a young girl after school.
