When I was in junior high school, a foreign teacher from the United States told us how fascinating the world abroad could be. He encouraged me to visit his home country and learn more if I ever had the opportunity. Since I’ve been learning English since childhood, I’ve always been curious about what America is really like, whether it’s as free and democratic as we read in our textbooks. I want to experience its culture and history firsthand. Because I enjoy spending time with children and connect well with them, becoming an au pair and living with an American family feels like the perfect path for me. It not only allows me to fully experience American culture but also helps me explore a new way of building relationships with children in a different cultural environment.

Ever since I did an exchange in England a few years ago I knew that I wanted to go abroad but I never knew how. That was until I was asked if I wanted to coach a field hockey team of 8-10 year old boys. I like to think that they learned a lot from me but I never thought I can learn as much from them as I did. Coaching them has taught me patience, empathy and how to create a positive structured environment. I've learned to communicate clearly, adapt to different needs, and handle challenges calmly. I consider myself responsible, emotional intelligent, and genuinely passionate about spending time with children. Becoming an au pair, is not just a job for me-it's a meaningful way to grow, learn about new cultures and be a positive role model for children.
