Why to choose an Au Pair from Latvia?
- Hard-working. Our winters are cold, for 6 months of the year it is actually snowing or raining here. However, winners have to think ahead and be prepared for both easy and hard times. We are good at planning and improvising as well.
- Open-minded. The landscape is flat in Latvia, so we look far, we look wide and we don't like our vision to be hampered by anything closer than the horizon. We don't always smile but when we do, it comes from the heart!
- Cooking enthusiasts. Cooking at home is very common in Latvia and we say almost nothing about it just because we have learned that it is not polite to speak with a full mouth. Food is to be enjoyed - not to be discussed.

I took care of Channa (4 years old) and Tyron (6 years old) from September 2025 to January 2026. I took care of Elizia (3 years old) from February 2025 to July 2025 during school breaks. My responsibilities included picking the child up from the nanny’s house, doing activities together, giving snacks, and bathing the child for a total of 51 hours. I took care of Johan (11 years old), Taiss (8 years old), Maleek (5 years old), and Adria (2 years old) from September 2024 to November 2025. My responsibilities included picking them up from school, helping with meals, and assisting with homework for a total of 200 hours. I took care of Tilia (3 to 9 years old) from July 2020 to August 2025 occasionally. My responsibilities included helping with meals, picking the child up from school, and doing activities.

I wish to participate in the program because it represents a unique opportunity for me to discover a new culture, practice my English, and have an enriching experience living with an American family. During my volunteer year, I work with children every day and it never gets boring or repetitive. I am patient, loving and caring- even in difficult or stressful situations.
