Why to choose an Au Pair from Latvia?
- Hard-working. Our winters are cold, for 6 months of the year it is actually snowing or raining here. However, winners have to think ahead and be prepared for both easy and hard times. We are good at planning and improvising as well.
- Open-minded. The landscape is flat in Latvia, so we look far, we look wide and we don't like our vision to be hampered by anything closer than the horizon. We don't always smile but when we do, it comes from the heart!
- Cooking enthusiasts. Cooking at home is very common in Latvia and we say almost nothing about it just because we have learned that it is not polite to speak with a full mouth. Food is to be enjoyed - not to be discussed.

I took care of Martin, who is 9 years old, from January 2025 to March 2025. I gave him his breakfast, prepared his lunchbox, took him to school and picked him up, gave him his lunch, helped him with homework, and played with him. I also cared for Emiliano, 18 months old, from July 2024 to November 2024. My duties included picking him up, bathing him, giving him his bottle, managing his nap times, giving him breakfast and snacks at different times of the day, playing with him, stimulating his development, accompanying him as he learned to walk, feeding him lunch, and changing his diaper whenever necessary. I also communicated daily with parents regarding the child’s diet, emotions, and learning progress, and coordinated parenting arrangements. I have always liked cultural exchanges and experiences abroad because I think they help us grow and learn about different ways of life. Joining the Au Pair program in the United States is a great opportunity for me to discover American culture and share my own. One of the most meaningful experiences in my life was my two-month humanitarian mission in Togo, Africa.
