Why to choose an Au Pair from Latvia?
- Hard-working. Our winters are cold, for 6 months of the year it is actually snowing or raining here. However, winners have to think ahead and be prepared for both easy and hard times. We are good at planning and improvising as well.
- Open-minded. The landscape is flat in Latvia, so we look far, we look wide and we don't like our vision to be hampered by anything closer than the horizon. We don't always smile but when we do, it comes from the heart!
- Cooking enthusiasts. Cooking at home is very common in Latvia and we say almost nothing about it just because we have learned that it is not polite to speak with a full mouth. Food is to be enjoyed - not to be discussed.
- English speakers. Most of us speak fluently in at least three languages, and English is one of them.
- Nature lovers. About 50% of Latvia is covered with forests, which means that we are a bit closer to the nature then the average European finds normal. We drill birch trees for sap, we pick all kinds of mushrooms and eat them, we go swimming in the lakes, rivers and bogs. And we actually love it!

Participating in an exchange program and culture in the United States would give me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in this cultural environment, which would enrich my perspective and personal experience. Even more so if it is in the company of children, because they teach me to be a better person. I consider myself qualified as I have previous experience in childcare, which includes supervision and support in daily activities, as well as the ability to handle situations in a calm and efficient manner. I consider myself to be a proactive, responsible and cheerful person, qualities that I consider essential for the role of an Au Pair. I am willing to accept the responsibilities that the position requires and to make a positive contribution to the host family's home.

I want to be an au pair because with children I can exploit my creativity and my imagination in every activity we do, it is nice that a child gives you the confidence to show you their passions and help them solve each challenge so they can shape their character, emotions and personalities in the best way. I have experience with children of different ages, and I have been able to learn how to handle difficult situations. Likewise, I have also taught groups of children with games where they develop great skills. This has helped me to be more mature and empathetic, in addition to knowing that children are growing, so we must be patient and lovely with them. Finally, I will be so happy learning all about your culture, routine, habits and customs and at the same time teaching you a little about mine.
