I want to be part of the au pair exchange program because I have always wanted to discover new cultures and new countries. I've always wanted to spend time abroad, even more after visiting the US last year for the first time. I'm sure it's the perfect combination of experiencing the culture, taking care of children and being part of a family. Now I have the opportunity to take a gap year during university. I've had my driver's licence for eight years and have been driving almost every day. I started gaining experience early when taking care of my younger brothers and cousins regulary. I always loved spending time with children, they bring a lot of joy in return. During and after school I gained more experience in caring for children and babies, helping with homework and coaching kids in learn-to-skate lessons for ice hockey.
