I want to participate in the Au Pair program because I would like to live the experience of getting to know another culture and a country different from mine, learning their language and being able to improve my English with native people doing what I like, which is taking care of children. I consider myself qualified for the program because I have experience caring for children from 3 months to 12 years of age, I work as a substitute teacher's assistant in a school with children from 3 to 16 years of age as a writing and reading reinforcement teacher and also taking care of the children at the end of the student session. Therefore I understand that my strengths are patience, understanding and collaboration with the growth of infants.

I took care of Thomas, 10 years old, from October 2022 to December 2022. My responsibilities included picking him up from school, helping him with his homework and reviewing what he had learned in class, preparing his lunch, and taking him to his soccer lessons. I took care of Jhojan Esteban, 6 years old, from May 2023 to September 2023. I prepared his breakfast, helped with his morning routine, and engaged him in games and activities such as painting, reading, singing, dancing, baking cookies and desserts. I also served him lunch and took him to the park in the afternoons. I cared for Mariam Lizeth, 1 year old, from October 2023 to May 2024. I prepared her bottle, bathed her, changed her diaper, prepared her lunch, and did activities to stimulate her to take her first steps. I also helped her take her nap and took her to different places to play. I currently care for Samantha, 7 months old, from June 2024 to February 2025. I get her up and dress her to go to the park, prepare her bottle and give her lunch, change her diaper, play with her educational toys, help her take her afternoon nap, and dress her in pajamas afterward.

First of all, becoming an au pair exchange program participant in the USA is the opportunity to keep on working with children since that is what I like the most. Also, because I want to improve my English oral skills, visit new places, learn about a new culture and share my own with my host family. Secondly, I consider I am responsible, independent, attentive, honest, empathic, hardworking and lovely. All those personaly traits are bland skills I can use for taking care of the children and making of this experience the best one ever. Furthermore, all my knowledge and the experience working with children as a nurse assistant is the most valuable strength I have for assiting the children in any urgency or emergency. Also, I know how to give First Aid Assistance in any unexpected situation.

I took care of Kelys (7 years old) from June 2024 to August 2024. My responsibilities included watching over him while he played sports in the backyard, having snacks at 4 p.m., driving him around when necessary, playing the PS4 with him, and making sure he showered and cleaned his room. I also looked after Raphaël (9 years old) and Virgile (3 years old) from May 2025 to July 2025. I picked them up from school, supervised them at the park and on the way home, bathed the younger child and ensured the older one showered, prepared their dinner, and supervised the meal. On some evenings, I stayed later to put them to bed and watched over them until their parents returned. From February 2025 to May 2025, I took care of Emmy (7 to 8 years old) and Maïly (5 to 6 years old). My responsibilities included baking cakes with them (as no processed sweets were allowed at home), supervising their playtime, suggesting new activities, and taking them to the park.

After being a baby-sitter and remembering all the good times with my nephew, the au pair program is perfect to me. Being around children daily and contributing to their development would give so much purpose to my life. I love American values when it comes to family and raising kids. I thought about getting to the USA for a long time, because I always saw videos photos and more about people who live there. I find the USA fascinating and would love to experience the culture and traditions. Furthermore I love spending my time with children, playing with them or doing other things and more with them. This makes me happy, because I see those smiling faces. Then I watched some videos online, where others spokes positively about being an au pair and I researched what it is exactly about.
