What to Expect From Your Au Pair From Namibia
Culture in Namibia is a blend of many different people and its culture and customs have absorbed both African and European elements and fused them into a blend of the two. With just 2.1 persons per square kilometer and a population of 2.5 million, Namibia's different cultures span an impressively diverse population for what is a sparsely populated country.
In Namibia, most households are not nuclear families but contain other kin as well. Parents receive substantial help with child-rearing from other family members. It is not unusual for children to live with other relatives if the parents have work obligations, the child needs to be closer to school, or a relative needs a child's help.
Namibian Au Pairs are hard-working and easy going. They come from a rich and diverse cultural and ethnic background and will bring their knowledge to your family.

Child Care Experience
I babysat Tristan (11), Keanu (9) and Arlu (6) in September 2023. My duties included supervising and engaging the children, helping with their routine, and providing general childcare support. I looked after Niko (7) and Nayla (5) from June to July 2023. My duties included preparing/serving meals, helping with hygiene routines (including baths), supporting potty training, doing educational activities (alphabet/numbers), and supervising play. I've taken care of my nephew Elijah occasionally since he was born in March 2021. My duties included infant and toddler care such as feeding, diapering, bath time, keeping routines, playing and engaging, and helping manage emotions/tantrums calmly. Finally, I volunteered at a kindergarten from August to December 2025 taking care of children ages 6 to 7 years old. My duties included assisting in a classroom setting, supervising children, helping with activities, and supporting learning through play and crafts.

Comments
I want to be your Au Pair because I truly enjoy caring for children and supporting their learning and daily routines, while experiencing a real cultural exchange in the USA. I would love to become part of your family, learn your traditions and routines, and share a little of my Namibian culture too. I’m infant-care qualified with hands-on baby and toddler experience, and I stay calm and patient during challenging moments like tantrums. I’m also a confident daily driver with experience driving children and I take safety seriously. I’m creative and enjoy planning fun activities like arts and crafts, painting, clay projects and baking with kids. Most importantly, I’m responsible, reliable, and committed to being a supportive “big sister” while respecting your rules and parenting style.
