Child Care Experience
From December 2024 to March 2025, I took care of Sara (1) for five hours, Monday to Friday. I prepared bottles, changed diapers, gave baths, got the child dressed and did sensory activities. From July to September 2023, I took care of Danna (6) for five hours, Monday to Friday. I prepared meals and helped with homework. From January 2017 to December 2019, I helped out at a Christian Church every Sunday with a group of children from 3 to 12 years of age. I taught, did games, songs, theater, music, and did social work for underprivileged children. From January to December 2018, I took care of Sharith (8) for eight hours on Wednesdays. I prepared meals, helped with homework, taught English and did recreational activities.

I want to be an au pair because I love children. In my opinion, children are great life teachers. From January to June 2025, I took care of Leonardo (5 months) for three days per week. I prepared bottles, changed diapers, helped the baby sleep, took the baby for walks, played, sang songs and talked to the baby. From May to June 2024, I took care of Matias (6 months). I gave baths, played and did light cleaning such as washing bottles, clothes and toys. From July to December 2024, I took care of Salome (5) several days per week. I prepared meals, helped with homework, played creative games, and took the child to the park. From August to December 2023, I took care of Juan (10) and Ian (7) for two days per week. I helped with homework, did light cleaning, and supervised free time to ensure safe activities. From January to April 2022, I took care of Sara (15) and Tomas (10) for four to five times per week. I picked up the children and took them to their extracurricular activities and planned and participated in outdoor games and recreational activities.

I looked after Sharid (10) from March to April 2022 on Sundays. I fed him and helped with homework. I Looked after my cousin Luciana (3) form August to December 2022 twice a week. I prepared meals, did different activities such as arts and crafts, bathed her, brushed her hair and taught her colors and numbers. I volunteered at a school from October 2024 to February 2025. I assisted the teacher with educational activities, supported the children's learning and supervised meal times.

First of all, becoming an au pair exchange program participant in the USA is the opportunity to keep on working with children since that is what I like the most. Also, because I want to improve my English oral skills, visit new places, learn about a new culture and share my own with my host family. Secondly, I consider I am responsible, independent, attentive, honest, empathic, hardworking and lovely. All those personaly traits are bland skills I can use for taking care of the children and making of this experience the best one ever. Furthermore, all my knowledge and the experience working with children as a nurse assistant is the most valuable strength I have for assiting the children in any urgency or emergency. Also, I know how to give First Aid Assistance in any unexpected situation.
