Infant care au pairs, also in the Regular program, are participants qualified to care for children between 3 months and two years of age. These au pairs have a minimum of 200 hours of documented infant care experience.

I babysat Alayah (8mths) from June 2018 to December 2019. I changed diapers, prepared bottles, dressed her, comber her hair, put her down for naps, taught her words and how to crawl and walk. I babysat Darelin (15), Darilenny (12) and Darian (10) from June 2020 to July 2024. I prepared meals, played with them and took them out to do recreational activities. I babysat Dinashley (6) from November 2023 to May 2024. I combed her hair, helped with chores, and did activities with her. Lastly, I looked after Felix (14) form February to May 2022. I played video games with him, rode biked and played parcheesi with him.

I've always wanted to spend time abroad, even more after visiting the US last year for the first time. I'm sure it's the perfect combination of experiencing the culture, taking care of children and being part of a family. Now I have the opportunity to take a gap year during university. I've had my driver's licence for eight years and have been driving almost every day. I started gaining experience early when taking care of my younger brothers and cousins regulary. I always loved spending time with children, they bring a lot of joy in return. During and after school I gained more experience in caring for children and babies, helping with homework and coaching kids in learn-to-skate lessons for ice hockey. First of all, becoming an au pair exchange program participant in the USA is the opportunity to keep on working with children since that is what I like the most. Also, because I want to improve my English oral skills, visit new places, learn about a new culture and share my own with my host family. Secondly, I consider I am responsible, independent, attentive, honest, empathic, hardworking and lovely. All those personaly traits are bland skills I can use for taking care of the children and making of this experience the best one ever. Furthermore, all my knowledge and the experience working with children as a nurse assistant is the most valuable strength I have for assiting the children in any urgency or emergency. Also, I know how to give First Aid Assistance in any unexpected situation.
